The Contractors State License Board requires all California contractors to possess an active license in the industry in which their work is performed. The role of the CSLB is to protect consumers from faulty workmanship by unskilled workers. All contractors must undergo rigorous testing to ensure that each is qualified to receive the license for which they are applying.
